Start your visit to the 9/11 Memorial Museum with a self-guided tour of the exhibitions and multimedia displays. The museum itself is located below the 9/11 Memorial, the reflecting pools that are the footprints of the Twin Towers that fell due to the devastating terrorist attack in 2001.

With your timed admission, you have guaranteed entry to stay for as long as you want. It is suggested that you take at least two hours to wander the museum. This admission saves you time by giving you direct entry into the center with your mobile device.

The museum also includes a pair of main exhibits: a memorial exhibition called In Memoriam, in honor of the people who lost their lives that day in 2001 as well as the people who were killed during the World Trade Center 1993 bombing. The second exhibition is September 11, 2001, a three-part exhibition that tells the tale of the day and analyzes motives for the attacks. It also shows the aftereffects of the attack and how the event changed the world, both locally and globally.

This museum experience brings out the emotions in the guests who visit. Get ready to hear the stories of loss and sadness, of compassion and recovery, as you explore the space.

After booking with viator , on arrival I couldn’t get my tickets up in my phone so the memorial centre said they could find them with my name . I was told I had booked for the previous month and they charged me again ! When I got back to the hotel and checked my ticket clearly says 23rd June ! I have messaged viator and 911 memorial as neither have a number you can call and I am still waiting for my refund ! I will give it another 24 hours before reporting it to my bank as fraud

Experience That Can't Be Missed

So many things to say. 1st: The architecture. Never have I been to a museum that uses architectural scale to make such an impact. The depth of the museum as a structure was only exceeded by the depth of the subject matter. 2nd: this is not only a full functioning museum complete with educational exhibits but a memorial as well. I was relieved to find that, in the literally thousands of people that were there with us that day, EVERYONE showed utmost respect as if those that perished were beloved family members. 3rd: Just go. Be emotional. Everyone not only needs to see this memorial, but they need to FEEL this memorial. Let it spark conversations as well as silence. When you emerge back into the light after you've wandered through the rubble of dreams lost as well as the artifacts that proved lifesaving, take a moment to be grateful for all the love humanity is truly capable of when we put our minds together to act on it.

This is a phenomenal experience. A warming reminder of the resilience of the people who were impacted by the tragedy of September 11th 2001. I went at 3:00 pm and to leave before viewing everything and listening to all of the audio messages and viewing all the the exhibits. Post COVID, the museum no longer hands out individual headsets; however, you are able to download an app that plays the audio messages. Remember to bring headphones. Additionally, remember to look at the description next to the individual exhibit to listen to the corresponding audio recording. Never forget, some people have the luxury of viewing this museum as a form personal recreation. Many people use this space to unpack, work through, and acknowledge trauma as a result of a lived experience. While you are here, it is imperative that you and those who you are traveling with are in the correct headspace prior to arrival. Enjoy, learn, heal, and love Mr. Nate (Urbana, IL)

Moving and Somber experience.

It was a moving and somber experience, but one that you need to do. Once getting there, we were overwhelmed with all the people and we didn’t know where to go. It would be nice to have more details about what to expect when you get there to not be frustrated.

Glad I went but far to many people in the museum. You had no time to digest everything one hour was enough

I would recommend this museum. 911 was beautifully memorialized with very little left out. Loved that it stands right where the Twin towers did and some of the original walls, wall off the museum.

It was a somber experience and brought me back to the actual day and what I was doing. I was in awe as I descended into the museum depths and seeing the actual wall structure and various relics and vehicles from that day and from the original site.

Being a volunteer fire firefighter and EMT it was emotional for us to remember the lives lost and the many families that were left to live with this tragic day.

Reading the flight deck recorder transcript of flight 93 in it’s entirety. Understood why the staff had Kleenex handy.

We were last at the site in 2010, the area itself is beautiful. So sad to see the direction our nation is going. I’m hopeful the tide is turning. Our safety and protection of the citizens should be number one. God bless America

This museum is a moving tribute to those who survived or loss their lives on that fateful day. It’s is sad to relive such an awful event which is why I said it made be triggering. But those souls deserved to be honor and the 9/11 museum did an amazing job doing so!

The last time I was in New York the museum was not done yet so this was a must see on this trip. We spent almost half of the day inside looking at everything. We have an 8 year old and this was his first exposure to 9/11 so to see everything first hand is an experience that will never be forgotten.

humbling experience but way too many people allowed in at a time. They should have a lower limit per time slot so that people can experience the museum in an appropriate manner
